Oi did you know that me and Hudz argue?

I get asked sometimes about what it's like working with my sister. "Oi, we argue" .....is sometimes one of my answers. You know why? because its' the truth. We're sisters, we've been pissing each other off since she was ejected out of the womb bro ๐Ÿ‘‡

Nah that's not true, actually I used to dote on her when she was a baby. I'm almost 5 years older than her. I was at the hospital when my mum evicted her from her uterus (it's ok mum, growl me later). When she came home we all fawned over her. She was so cute. I don't really remember if she was a hard baby or not. When she became a toddler though, she was out the damn gate.

Like literally out the gate. My dad used to work nights so he'd look after her during the day while mum was at work. Nek minit, old daddio falls asleep and Hudz goes for a karore (walk) with our dog to who knows where ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ Our dad used to lose his mind. One time she even set fire๐Ÿ”ฅ to the carpet while he was in the shower...๐Ÿ˜‚ My mum had to rush back from work multiple times because of this hua!

Anyway, you get my point!

She's full of determination and goes the extra out the gate mile to achieve her goals.

That's the BEST part about working with her. I'm easily distracted and occasionally suffer from indecisiveness. She's my perfect balance.

Those qualities when either of us are feeling stubborn or frustrated, are also the same things that annoy us about each other.

But I love our fights ๐ŸฅŠ. I love them because no matter how much she's digging in her heels ๐Ÿ‘  or stomping her feet, we never hit below the belt๐Ÿค˜. We've got shit on each other from way back in the days. She's got trauma from when I used to be a dick to her in my teenage years. Even her friends hated coming to our house if I was there coz I was dick to them too.. (but also they had smart mouths..little eggs)

With all of that said, the relationship we have nurtured since we've become adults is so trusting and safe that I can argue with her one minute and in the next minute, tell her nah you're right....yeah shot sis! OR I don't agree but let me think on it.. ๐Ÿค”

I've heard business leaders say you should never work with your family.....I've heard it heaps!

I get frustrated with my family and we don't always agree๐Ÿ™…, but in OUR whanau, we don't HAVE to agree. Our emotional maturity and love for each other is such, that we can be OK with not agreeing. It's healthy to have your own views about the world. It's healthy to debate but still hold space for people to safely and openly share their truth. You don't have to agree you don't always have to win๐Ÿฅ‡. Feeling heard is much more powerful.

When we were teenagers, yes, there were tantrums, occasionally, we threw hands, but we're adults now. We are adults that do the inner work! All 5 of us siblings and our mum do inner work. We are super different in so many ways but the most important things we agree on are our VALUES! Our moral compasses all point the same way.

Hudz and I we just gel. Our relationship with each other is safe. If she can't see my point of view, I take a breathe...and then manipulate her with my great sales skills..hahaha!! Nah (but also yes)! If it's really important to me she just says...go on then sis, give it a jam. If it works, it works. If it doesn't, it doesn't. We accept each other as we are๐Ÿ’™. With the BEST parts and the messy parts of ourselves.

I 100% know this is why our Squad communities are so safe. We are so busy celebrating and holding safe space for people that we have no time for judgement. It doesn't even occur to us to compare or compete. We do the opposite. We connect and strive. Our squads motivate and inspire. Whatever your ability, whatever your size, whatever your fitness you are safe with us because we are safe space seekers and safe space makers. We have fun, we do hard things, we get roasted by our Squads and we drink in every wonderful minute of eye rolls and middle fingers that we receive ๐Ÿ˜‚ So when I get asked "what is it like to work with your sister" I think of everything I just said ... I crackup and answer "oi we argue".
